Research has shown that despite lower gas prices, car owners are maintaining their cars instead of purchasing new ones.
Consumers changed their approach to auto maintenance as it relates to fuel efficiency. More are checking their tire pressure, changed the air filter and replaced the fuel filter. They also reported changing the oil more often; using fuel additives, premium oil, and oil additives or engine treatments to improve performance or gas mileage.
As for purchasing a new vehicle, most do not plan not to do so in the near future.
